How to take a sulforaphane supplement?

Take it according to the product instructions, often with a meal. But pay more attention to whether it contains active myrosinase or stabilised sulforaphane. The delivered dose matters more than the label number.

Are sulforaphane supplements safe?

For most healthy adults, it is well tolerated. Mild digestive upset is the most common issue. Like most supplements, those taking medicines or with medical conditions should be cautious about interactions and speak to their doctor first.

Is it better to take sulforaphane supplements before bed?

There is no clear evidence that bedtime is better than any other time. Most people prefer taking it with food as it feels easier on the stomach and reduces any bloating or gas that some people can get.

What is the recommended sulforaphane supplement dosage?

There is no official recommended dosage. Study doses vary, so a product with clear sulforaphane yield and active myrosinase is usually a better signal than a big milligram figure.

What are the sulforaphane benefits for brain health?

Research is still early and mixed, so it is not a proven cognitive aid, although some research around pollution and how sulforaphane speeds up the removal of pollutants is promising. Broccoli sprouts and other food sources remain a sensible way to get it while evidence continues to develop.
